Hebridean Dark Skies Festival 2023

As part of the festival we welcomed astronomer and astrophotographer Steven Gray who gave us a professional entertaining and interesting presentation on the aspects of Dark Skies.  He covered items such as the Dark Skies status procedure, the various designations, parks, sites and how light pollution impacts on humans, wildlife and the environment. Steven has kindly agreed to guide us through the procedure for Gallan Head to acquire Dark Skies status.  Steven operates a mobile Cosmos Planetarium and is Secretary of British Association Planetaria, elected fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, Winston Churchill memorial trust travelling fellow, STEM ambassador, member of the International Planetarium Society & Member of the International Dark Skies Association.
